Dubai Cars Go Hybrid

There is no doubt about it - hybrid cars are increasing in demands nowadays and it is also true that they are making good sales not only in the US market but in the international market as well. China, Japan, India and some parts of Asia are also demanding for hybrid cars. The stricter emission rate increases the demand for these eco-friendly cars so much so that even Dubai also demands for it now.

The Dubai Government has recently announced that the taxi fleets will all be converted to hybrid cars which are regarded as the most environment–friendly type of car.

The initiative will soon take place in Dubai which is regarded as the leading city in the promotion of sustainable public transport system. Some countries have already developed such a kind of system that promotes sustainable transport systems and eco-friendly vehicles.

Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, United Arab Emirates’ Vice President and Prime Minister, was the one to initialize the green movement. Also the ruler of Dubai, he also said that the plan for a more eco-friendly Dubai by the year 2015 will be pursued by the use of the sustainable development policies which is included on its Dubai Strategic Plan 2015.

Dubai will get real time fuel efficiency by using hybrid cars. We all know that hybrid cars are using non-conventional fuel combined with electric power that effectively reduces the emission scores. Now, Dubai will be one among those who practice environmental preservation. These cars are using the following car parts including the exhaust, fuel filter and fuel injectors for a real time fuel efficiency.

Hybrids In Dubai

It seems like the Big Apple is not the only major city in the world that is interested in fielding a taxi fleet of green cars. It can be remembered that Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced his plan of replacing the city’s yellow taxi fleet with green cars. Recently though, it was the government of Dubai which expressed its plan to feature a fleet of hybrid taxis in the city. This will put the city as one of the leading city in terms of sustainable public transport services.

It is kinda surprising that a city overflowing with petroleum oil would opt for a car running on hybrid fuel. Well, this just shows how the global community is working together to repel the threat of global warming which lately has become pretty real and scary if I may add. Actually, this plan to replace the existing conventional fleet of taxis with hybrid cars came from His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum himself. The plan is enclosed in the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015.

This means that hybrid cars will be ruling the streets of Dubai in the near future. These vehicles are known for their fuel efficiency and their environment-friendliness. These cars have the reputation of consuming less fuel than conventional gasoline engine-powered vehicles - even those equipped with aftermarket parts such as Weapon R cold air intake system.

There are currently many hybrid cars from different car manufacturers that the government of Dubai can chose from in assembling their fleet of hybrid vehicles. One of the recently released hybrids is the Nissan Altima Hybrid which is equipped with Nissan’s transmission choice which is the CVT. Other hybrid vehicles out in the market already are the following:

  • Toyota Prius
  • Toyota Highlander Hybrid
  • Toyota Camry Hybrid
  • Ford Escape Hybrid
  • Mercury Mariner Hybrid
  • Saturn Vue Green Line
  • Honda Civic Hybrid
  • Honda Insight
  • Honda Accord

With more hybrid cars being developed, the government of Dubai would surely have no difficulty turning their vision of a hybrid taxi fleet into reality.

Victory Comes Twice for Toyota’s Cleaner Engine

Just as people have started to love green cars, it is also when Toyota has decided to make good and quality hybrid cars for them. And from the overwhelming demands of the hybrid Toyota followers, the Japanese car company had discovered making greener engines for their new Toyota hybrid models. And now, the efforts have been paid well.

Just recently, Toyota was able to rock the yearly International Engine of the Year awards by winning two major awards. The Hybrid Synergy Drive was able to win the category ‘Best Fuel Economy’ for four years in succession. The said 1.5 liter petrol engine is placed on Toyota’s pride - the Prius. The Toyota exclusive engine part was able to get the award since it was made available on cars of Toyota in 2004. The Prius is composed of functional Toyota Hawk brakes and the Dynomax exhaust and that combination is making the vehicle do just quite well in the car market today.

Aside from the ‘Best Fuel Economy’ awarded to its Hybrid Synergy Drive system, Toyota Agyo’s new three cylinder engine part weighing on a lightweight 1.0 liter won the best sub 1.0-litre power unit.

In the same awards, the lightweight 1.0 liter, three-cylinder engine from the Toyota Aygo has been named the best sub 1.0-litre power unit.

Toyota has always proven its worth and they had never failed their customers by bringing them what they actually need. Truly, Toyota will soon sell more cars if they continue their commitments in making new innovations on engine parts as well as making quality cars with a reasonable value.

Honda Will Give UK New Breed of Hydrogen Hybrid Cars

The Honda Motors Corporation is the first automaker to make the hybrid car. We all know what the car was, of course. To do those who do not, it is the Honda Insight. And through years of making quality hybrid cars, Honda was able to discover something new - something that combines both hybrid technology and the use of hydrogen to propel the new car.

Now, Honda is giving the UK car market a new hybrid model and it will come in the next two years. And at the same time, Honda will be bringing small units of the FCX fuel cell cars on the particular market. Honda parts and other car parts will be included in the new car.

Ken Kier, the UK managing director, comments and says, "We will have a more financially accessible hybrid available by 2009. We have no idea of the size of the hybrid market right now; we just know that right now we can't meet demand."

The good thing is that the new generation hybrid car will not only be available in the UK car market but in the US market as well. About 200,000 units of cars will be produced each year which will be made in Japan and will also supply the US market with half of its production and will start in 2009.

Kier added a comment about making the FCX fuel cell car available in the market. He said, “"There will obviously be infrastructure problems in getting hold of hydrogen for the fuel cells but this is an issue that will have to be addressed as we move into the future. Fuel cells are a long way from being economic and some pundits are saying they are still 20 years away. With the FCX Honda will offer it from 2008, but the issue is how you create hydrogen."

"If this is developed to its ultimate conclusion then it could be possible to generate hydrogen in your own home," Keir added knowing that the Honda is now involved in developing a technology that uses solar energy.
