Toyota Goes For Second Hybrid Brand
Remember the news indicating that the Japanese brand surpassed Ford in its sales? It was big issue in the auto world last year - Toyota being the number two brand in the U.S. market snatching the limelight that has been in Ford’s possession for so many years.
This success was due to hybrid cars and Toyota even broadcasted before that their sale on hybrids after ten years has went beyond the one millionth mark. In their local market, Toyota had sold 345,000 hybrid vehicles plus 702,000 more units across their borders - that made successful sales. Out of 1.047 million vehicles, 757,600 were hybrid Prius models.
For the same year, the hottest news regarding the same model circulated the four corners of the auto world. It says that we should anticipate seeing tons of Toyota Prius units by this year as their production went up by about 50%. Toyota asserted that they will be manufacturing almost 300,000 units which will all be sold worldwide.
How will the brand make it possible? Simple. All assembly plants where the Prius is being fabricated, together with other Toyota model vehicles, will concentrate exclusively to the production of the said model.
And for the second quarter of the year, here comes another piece of news - the second hybrid from Toyota. The Japanese brand is planning to start the production of the second hybrid brand by 2009.
This model will then be sold along with the flagship hybrid vehicle of Toyota - Prius. It is anticipated to have exceptional sales and to hit the 100,000 units that is estimated to be the number of sold cars per year.
According to “The Nikkei”, a Japanese newspaper, Toyota is hopeful that 3 years from now, the hybrid sales will reach its optimum sales and will sell around a million of units annually.
But hey guys, the Prius has something new to offer -it will be releasing the latest three hybrid versions. Those three vehicles will be known as the 3 piglets of the mother Prius - they will be named the Prius A, B, and C. These three will be accessible come 2009, 2010, and 2011 respectively. All three will feature special specifications and a distinctive design totally different from the other.
For sure, those three new hybrid vehicles will have unique car parts that is totally undistinguishable from other brands. Maybe car parts fashioned like Volvo 960 parts, the Saab clutch, and the VW Beetle gauge face. Well, just maybe.
It has been said that Toyota was able to obtain the benefit of ever-increasing demand for these hybrid models due to the oil price hikes as well as the widespread issue on global warming. For that, let’s give Toyota rounds of applause!
For now, let’s just all wait and see the latest designs of hybrid cars that will soon hit our destination which we all know have been specifically made by Toyota itself.
